Sourcing
We buy through importers (currently Sucafina and Café Imports) that publish FOB pricing. Our average paid price across all green stock in 2025 was 2.4× the C-market price for the same grade. We don't carry the Fair Trade USA seal, but we publish what we paid every spring.
Packaging
Our 12 oz retail bags are kraft paper with a recyclable one-way valve. Our shipping mailers are 100% recycled corrugated, and the void fill is shredded kraft from our own packing trim. We do not use plastic air pillows or peanuts.
Energy
Our roastery runs on a residential solar array that supplies an average of 62% of our annual electricity. The Probat roaster is gas-fired; we offset the natural gas burn through a Camden County tree-planting program at the end of every quarter.
What we don't claim
We're not carbon-neutral. We don't have a third-party sustainability certification. We're a small company doing what we can afford to do well, and trying to be honest about what we haven't done yet.
